I've had a part time place out in the "boonies" for over 4 yrs now, and each and every one of my neighbors has told me "I'll watch your place. I'll make sure it's safe. I'll make sure no one comes in and steals from you." And each and every one of them have guns that they would not hesitate to use if they had to.

I am thinking back to a story my youngest son told when he returned from a visit with an old school friend. This friend lives in a small town outside Jackson Hole Wyoming. He was absolutely amazed by the fact that most of the men he ran into during his visit, be it in the grocery store, a restaurant or hardware store openly carried a gun, in a holster on his hip. He said there is no crime in that community. No gangs either.

I know for most people, the most practical solution is to live behind gates and walls, but some of us derive our security from living free and independent from walls and gates. And love the 2nd Amendment more than any other.

;)

Agree with you...We have to look no farther than Bellevue, Seattle, and the numerous communities surrounding both places. HUGE numbers of high rise condos have been built all around the area in the last 5 years....and of course, all are guarded and have video surveillance.... Note the names of some famous people who live in Bellevue....you will see there are several others who aren't named (Gates, McCaw, and Allen are but just three of them) Reason is people live in other enclosed areas around the Seattle/Eastside area....

A couple of months ago, there were 18 tall cranes in the downtown core alone! 12 square block area

The thing I truly don't understand is why the very wealthiest people, in the entire country, tend to vote Democrat. (Bruce McCaw is one of the few exceptions).

Do all of them have their vast amounts of money in foundations and trusts so effectively, they, themselves, have very little money in their own name?
