DD, would you please post that NYT article here. I think we need to see it through a different prism, and not one that is totally skewed to the Robbing Hood side. We can see it viewed through the prism of some of the folks there, who don't really want to see anything that would find fault with the Dems premise of "if you can't afford the payment on the loan, that's OK....Uncle Sam will do it for you.... and it's OK that you don't have the income to buy the house....we'll just make it mandatory that the banks give you the loan.... a nd if you don't have a good credit history, that's OK too....we'll just tell the banks they can sell immediately your paper with lots of others (call it a bundle) and the banks can value it at whatever they please on their books. The banks and some in Congress on the Banking Committees know that is false, but what do they care. They changed the rules, writing that their bonuses are built on VOLUME, not on honesty. Congress wins because they get the finance organizations to "donate" money to their election campaigns... Schussssssh. No one will ever be the wiser, the Dems who are in charge say..... unless the whole house of cards falls down.... Yep, the Dems want to blame the whole thing on GWB and crew....and hope that the American people will not figure out the real culprits.
