I just wonder how POPULAR ideas like Alaska's Windfall Profits Tax on Big Oil (and her "socialized" hybrid form of economy... with large transfer payments directly from the government to the citizens each year... financed by excise taxes on Big Oil) would be in America at large, were they presented as options to other Americans? (Alaska may be described as among the "reddest" of States... but that little bit of Socialism, those transfer payments to the citizens are still extremely popular among all of those Alaskans. :-)
