By far the single most important thing one can do about kidney stones is to always stay very well hydrated. The exact roll of diet, if any, is quite problematic IMO.

I mentioned here that when I started by weight loss, My Urologist told me, "you will be in here with kidney stones if you do." He based that on my history of gout.

I am really delighted with Dr Davis's first article on his diet revision. And the NYT article related to it is just outstanding.

I think the major point is, we have gone down the wrong track on diet since the 70's produced the "low fat" one. That is now a huge train with BILLIONS of dollars behind it. Will be very difficult to turn it around.

The secondary one we read daily. People are different, and lose weight differently.
