Two things:

Not sure I can swallow that unintended consequences part, upthestairs.

1.My recollections are not reliable...everyone must listen to their own conclusions of what Doug Noland said. My effort was only intended to point to it.

It is my thoughtful position, Lehman was selected as not only the "test case" for utilizing the alternative outcome, aka a bankruptcy court processing of a major counterparty failure scenario, (much like practicing w/BofA pressured into being Countrywide's savior)but to LANCE THE BOIL, or prick the CDS balloon in particular.

2. We can no longer know when we are seeing the real hand.
