What does that have to do with the subject at hand? The USSR paid people to live in Siberia. So, you are arguing that wasn't socialism?

There are many places in this country with less than ideal climates. Yet, you want to single out just one place and subsidize them. Why?

While you could argue that that's a false comparison, it's not a straw man argument.
