I remember McCain back in 2000 saying that Roe v. Wade should not be overturned.

I remember McCain teaming up with Russ Feingold to pass campaign finance reform in 2002.

I remember McCain being one of the organizers of the "Gang of 14" who helped break the impasse on judicial nominees in 2005.

Good point. To be honest, he wasn't on my radar screen until he ran for president against Bush.
