McCain-Feingold was solely to try to rehabilitate himself from Keating, and it's not something he's stood by since.

This kid is clueless. Does he understand that McCain was EXONERATED in Keating, and that it turned out the Democrats included him solely so it wouldn't be all Democrats involved?

Z, > Over the course of the rest of his career, he has been against Roe v. Wade (he seems to be right now), been for abolishing the departments of education and energy, been for taking out Saddam before pretty much anyone else was, been for basically abolishing Social Security and other safety nets, and has been in favor of as much deregulation as possible.

Wake up, Z. You're just parroting all of the anti-McCain spin you're reading on left-wing blogs.

This is EXACTLY why you can never make a political career out of being a "moderate." You will anger those in your own political party, and the other party will simply paint you as an extremist. And don't tell me that independent candidates even stand a chance these days.

Now I agree that McCain has emphasized more of his conservative record over the past two years, but you are absolutely nuts if you think McCain wants to abolish the Departments of Energy and Education as well as Social Security. That's just left-wing kook speak for "our way or the highway."
