That is counter-factual.


It isn't substantially "counter-factual".

This problem is the creation of the Democrats IN CONGRESS. When the Republicans tried to regulate these entities, Barney Frank and other Dems stopped it, claiming the companies to be healthy. That was a lie.

I have a friend who was a VP at FNMA for a short period -- about a year, a few years back. Received an email from him last week talking about how in that year he saw there were major problems and bailed out. These guys knew what was going on.
