Thanks. The vet said he started down fast which was better for all then lingering for a long time. I really like her, she offered an alternative but she gave it to me straight, said it wasn't fair to do to such a fine friend.

I've talked with several people as well as the vet about Missy, our middle boys dog. He's in his senior year of high school and will be going way next year. The hurricane, the move, loosing Mikey has her depressed. Her boy leaving next year might be too much for her to handle in that house all alone.

The vet suggested we find her a companion when we get our home back and we are all settled in. She told me another dog wouldn't replace Mikey, but would provide Missy with the companionship she needs and deserves.

I never thought of it that way before but Missy is a good girl and I don't want her health deteriorating because of how I feel about another dog.

This is something to give strong consideration to.
