I guess the question I have is how did this report escape timely notice on this board? I recall that during initial slide there was much gnashing of teeth here over "unfounded " rumors. Now we learn there existed an analyst's report. I don't know about the rest of you, but I missed this one and it cost me in the short term. That said, why are we flogging the messenger? Pierre

Hear! Hear! Style Pts. Cleared up very nicely. As I suspected, it appears that Mr. Goto has issued a follow-up note on his original downgrade of Nikon which was reported on bloomberg as Sept 9th. There is alot of research issued by brokers that does not make it to bloomberg. Must have had a company visit recently. Mr Goto must be nervous of late with the Salomon Smith Barney merger. Salomon also has a team in Tokyo that covers tech and they have indicated they will be firing some 35 analysts...... PAinvestor
