It seems this is true and I am fearful that it will undermine the US economy long term. The Congress pushing the concept of a home for every one and denying any initiative to regulate the GSM's and as a extension the mortgage industry brought about this calamity. Every one else copied the concept around the world hoping to be saved by CDS's only to be proven wrong. The world banking system is to small to handle such a huge amount of loans/mortgages - it worked until the first hiccup
