Heard someone on cnbc talking about the possible demise of the euro as a currency as causing this further decline today. Europeans sent each country off to do its own thing rather than take concerted action. But the euro is the official currency so how can they do that? What if quasi-country EU falls apart? As i understand it there are banks in europe bigger than countries they reside in. This american caused problem may bring down the EU??? I guess there is a plus side to this for the US and perhaps for european nations after the carnage ends. Right now, this would explain further weakness in the euro against other countries and would cause money to flow into the US rather than out of it.
Any mavens on this stuff here?
