"CRA has been on the books since the Carter Admin and was amended during the Clinton years" Right. But few CRA loans are in trouble. They were vetted pretty thoroughly. "Frank and Dodd and a bevy of other demolibs opposed all attempts to control FNMA and FHLMC." Could be. But how did they manage to block votes? The Republicans had majorities in both houses. "the alarm should have been sounded much louder by this Admin...." Why would they? They were at the heart of the mess.
