Yep! (Just trying to be clear... because you kept coming back with phrases that I *hadn't ever said* :-)

No... but they would have to have a Hell of a lot of money to make any kind of significant market over such a long period!

(Like I said: previously the commercial banking sector only found VERY LARGE CORPORATIONS and SOVEREIGN NATIONS credit worthy enough to offer 30 year loans to --- not individuals.)

The same evidence is presented in numerous other countries, (so I have little reason to believe that the financial logic would be any different).

Loans made to individuals for such a LONG period of time would require SIGNIFICANTLY higher coupons without the deep pockets of these 'federal corporations' making a ready secondary market.
