Make Obama defend his view that we need more government bureaucracy to fix this mess when that same bureaucracy was partly responsible for exacerbating the problem.

But unregulated institutions were mostly responsible. So your argument that we don't need regulation rings hollow.

Should we "deregulate" the speed limit? How about removing stop lights? All those are "big government limiting our freedom".
