It was after all of the "media" picked up on this, including the WSJ and even the weekly standard wrote editorial that said mccain mis-handled the crisis. Actually McCain had a part in causing the bill to fail. He apparently supported the house in that meeting he supposedly blew up, but actually blew up after Obama and Barney Frank spoke. He helped put together the bill that passed. Not that I agree that that should have passed either. He is actually identified with passing the bill, or trying to pass it the first time. If he had out right rejected the bill he would be up in the polls.
