John, I would be tempted to file a formal complaint against this broker with whichever is the governing regulator in your instance: SEC, State Regulator, etc. It would seem to me that your broker has not come anywhere close to living up to his/her fiduciary responsibilities. Attempting to panic a supposedly less knowledgeable investor out of his holding is not a practice that Arthur Levitt sanctions. Presumably, this morning's behaviour is atypical. Another piece of anecdotal evidence supporting the fact that some brokers are a lower life form than pond scum. (No offense meant to you Ken ;-) ) Ian. re: My broker just called from NY in a panic over the SB blurb. He got it from a colleague in the same house who is, or was, on the short side back during the blood-letting.
