This economic debacle started with residential sub prime and CDO problems. Now commercial paper problems seem to be coming to light and as we fall further into recession one might deduce as businesses become increasingly strained they will need loans, or refinancing, which are not there, and commercial paper will become an increasing problem.

I have read many times that it was falling real estate prices in Tokyo that sent Japan into its lost decade. And that was just one part of one city.

This time it is the whole world.

Imagine, both residential and commercial paper problems and then add on hedge fund derivatives flowing through all of this and no telling what magnitude of problem will ultimately manifest itself.
