I was wondering if anybody had public information on DWMT or DMT being considered for use as a standard physical layer line coding method in cable modem (HFC) technology.

The following was taken from the IEEE 802.14 public web site:

"Work has already begun on advanced physical layer modulation techniques beyond QPSK and QAM that promise greater efficiencies while retaining the same core functionality."

It sounds like the IEEE 802.14 commitee is looking into even more efficient modulation techniques for cable modems. I certainly hope that they are looking into DWMT as a viable solution.
