Volume in LGND is picking up (over 1/4 million) and ask has been raised to 17 (bid is 16 7/8).

that was the positive that i saw in the deal..lgnd gets to maintain aggressive research with restrained expenses.

Thanks for the link, Martin. Some new info here. They say the mystery drug will likely be submitted for approval next year. So Henry's timetable and suggestion that it will bring LGND profitability in 1999 seem quite plausible, depending on the FDA. If the area is cancer, it could well be fast tracked. Also at the time of exercising the option, LGND will have to pay LLY 10M worth of LGND stock at market price.

Must say the new target of 24 did not impress me, however, it is about 50% above the current price.
