Plausible scenario. I see Dow 7,000 as kind of an ultimate bottom. I get that by taking the 1974 lows and compounding it by Nominal GDP.

A long-term buyer in the market would do ok here, I believe, given that there are very few times in history where the 10 year nominal return from stocks has been below 0. But still, you'd have to be pretty long-term to realize a decent gain.

And as we know stocks can and WILL get cheaper than anyone can believe as disgust sets in.

It's a modern day deflation, no doubt.
