The problem I am having with investing in US industry at these
bargain-basement prices is that I don't see current policies as
being productive for that. We still pursue the same very
policies of financial bubbles and bailouts that killed
manufacturing in this country in the first place. Who did
we just give 700 billion to? Banks. So? Until
they are abandoned, the outlook is for increased inflation, possibly
turning to hyperinflation. The outlook for the real economy
(manufacturing) under such policies remains poor, as they will
get eaten alive by high production costs and slackening demand.
We get further Zimbabwization of this country, more useless
"services" - read - financial services.

That said, policies could change after this year. But we
just wait and see...
