isn't just the production changing hands? do you currently not buy amd graphics chips made by tsmc/umc? what's the difference?

Uh? The vast bulk of what you buy now is out of Asia. In the case of AMD, the parts will be fab'ed by TFC, which, AMD still controls. How is that different from ATI parts which are fab'ed by TSMC, which AMD does not control?

People keep neglecting the fact that AMD CONTROLS TFC, and MUST continue to do so as long as the current Intel agreement is not modified.

But that is irrelevant for you anyway. It is AMD who sells the finished product, not TFC, and AMD is a US company. What is not US, is ANY of the motherboards you buy. They are all made in Asia, and from prior posts it seems you buy from their distribution, so the actual systems you buy are not from US suppliers like HP or Dell, but from Asian suppliers. Do you buy only Micron memory BTW???
