Probably the same folks McCain was trying to fool when he said fixing social security is easy.

I think we ought to acknowledge 2 facts:

1) the deficit is out of control
2) the government needs tax revenues to function

I think everyone agrees on that.

The question is how much revenue. Regan, Bush, Bush II... that's 20 years of republicans pledging to cut taxes and cut spending. They always do the first but NEVER cut spending. It took Bush 7 years to use his first veto. The result... a multi-trillion dollar deficit.
