Yeah, the thrown out votes of about 15,000 people in Duval county, Jacksonville, in 2000, to name one issue. These voters clearly voted for either Bush or Gore but were mostly DEM votes for Gore. The voters filled in the ovals correctly , but , then for emphasis wrote in Bushes or Gores name on the bottom of the ballot. It was obvious what they wanted, and the rules are that if the intent of the voter is known then the vote should be counted. This, alone cost the DEM vote count about 12,000 lost votes and the GOP about 3,000 lost votes. There were many other counties which took liberty with the election, For instance in the Orlando area many Puerto Ricans , who generally vote DEM were turned away because they did not show two types of ID, clearly a violation of the rules. And , not to mention the Katherine Harris debacle, where she, as secretary of state and a rabid GOP'er , knocked over 50,000 people off the voter roles most of whom were eligible to vote, and 80% of which were expected to vote DEM. The vast majority were not ex-felons, but they were so accused and had no time to challenge. Makes the military issue look like real small potatoes. I know of several other questionable methods used by the GOP to suppress voters or not to count votes which were employed in Fla, including intimidation. There were a couple of small DEM efforts as well , but, as usual , the GOP did by far the most damage to democracy here in Fla in 2000.
