And by putting the Dem. party in the same boat as the GOP, he doesn't have to cop to the fact that the GOP has screwed up badly and that his two votes for Bush helped make it happen.

Perhaps Nigel but I suspect in the next 20 years we will see a political revolution. The only question is whether for better or worse.

Remember the Republican party did not exist when the first President was elected. The Civil war was a revolution of sorts as was the new deal.

I suspect we are going through another time of change. I am going to be watching the congressional elections as I suspect there will be a lot of incumbents who will lose and it will be a surprise to the powers that be. People in America are livid and this could easily coalesce into an anti-incumbant throw the Bastards out movement. In Maryland even before the crisis, 2 incoumbant congressman lost their seats in the primaries. 1 democrat and 1 Republican. Something is afoot.
