Max, I too would never say "I told you so" or anything of a sort, for two reasons: a) they have suffered enormous and painful losses; b) it could happen to me, you, perhaps ALL of us tomorrow. Life is not fair. It's all relative. When my brother got the news about five years ago that he had early onset Parkinson's disease, he was relieved. No, he's not insane. He watched a brain tumor (like Ted Kennedy's) take his wife in just 8 months. His overriding concen was that he had a brain tumor. It still is a terrible disease and has affected him greatly. He was the youngest person in the world to receive a DBS (deep brain stimulation) implant; and now the youngest to receive two (one for each hemisphere). Life goes on, if we are lucky. The things that are most precious to me are mostly cheap: my health; photography; watching films; hiking; bicycling; my family; reading. Those will go on, my current herniated disc notwithstanding. --Ben
