I'm no TA expert, but I do not see how anyone could view 8900-9000 as major support during such a crisis. I can barely even figure out how that level is important by looking at a chart.

Look at about a 12-year chart. 7500-8000ish was a big ceiling in late 1997. It took a long time to push through, maybe half a year. Then that same level was big support in 1998, then again support in 2002-2003. That's what a real support level looks like.

Life a knife through butter...

That's what I'm thinking is going to happen again, though only briefly, to scare people out of their minds.
