What happen do not like the AUD? or BRL? after it was cut almost in half - as far as I know the world will still need coal, grains, gold, uranium and other goodies that are plentiful in Australia and Brazil - after all we all need to eat and keep warm and use electricity – also China just got urbanized as is India – will they turn back to peasantry without a cooking oven fridge or TV or …. and gave up on their fancy gadgets and whoever already has a car?

US currency repatriation will be on mass those days ... nothing orderly ... but longer term who will buy US debt?

The US will need massive depreciation of its currency to get itself out of the debt jail – do you have a formal gov. site where we can evaluate how much US debt is out there and where and how much US holdings are overseas and where?

Also read that Russian Oligarch are no more what they used to be and wonder if Putin days are numbered – if true – then see crude oil back to the $40 $50 range quite soon – matching the Kondratieff winter prices

As to your gold purchases yes it makes sense but the price is rising very timid? wonder why or possibly there is no money to buy it - and therefore will not be in the future – may be groceries will be so cheap and barter will be the mean of transaction – as to gold you can not eat will not keep you warm and always be in danger to get robbed or confiscated by the powers to be - so the jury is out - who knows the truth

<<I am not much for variations on successful formulae.>>

Well when it comes to breakfast me too. a whole cantaloup followed by a big slab of salmon swimmin in butter an lemon then a buckwheat pancake and a basket of strawberries an I'm set till dinner. This formula has kept me free from colds for the last 7 years.

<<buy,buy,buy gold>>

I donno perhaps this formula has run it's course.

I had an interestin experience about a week ago.On a float trip down the Snake River just south of Jackson I saw an eagle out for a swim (which they don't usually do) Rowed over an she swam to the shore. Climbed outa my small pontoon boat an slowly approached sitting down not 4 feet from this giant bird. We stared (an I took pictures) at each other for about 20 minutes. For a fleeting moment I thought of takin her to a vet to see if she wuz injured but doubting she would understand my good intentions (and observing her awesome weapons)I quickly dismissed this plan. Thus assuming that she wuz just too wet to fly I resumed my trip, leaving her (and mate who wuz flyin overhead).
