I don't believe you could possibly do business in politics at that level for that long without dirtying your hands. He has that Keating thing in his past. He would have to be nervous about it. I saw a clip of him this morning from some town meeting where a questioner pleaded with him to go after Obama aggressively for some character issue or other, a tone of desperation in his voice. McCain responded by assuring the guy that he would do what he was asked, then quickly added that he was also going to talk about something else, which I forget, something serious, seemingly trying to drag himself out of the gutter in which his questioner wanted him to immerse himself further. I felt sorry for him. I don't believe he wants to be there.
