I suspect mom and pop were scared out of stocks long ago. What is left is those of us who will stay the course and eventually profit and a bunch of machines trading with each other. Thus individual investors are essentially a non-factor and have been for awhile. Now if mom and pop ever read their 401k statements there will be a lot of concern.
