There is no proof, but I'm pretty sure we have already slashed our chances of a bad health event in our immediate future, both being in our late 40's.

You have no idea how incredibly good your post makes me feel. I started this thread to give me a place to vent, and by doing so, force me to take action. I doubt if I would have got my diet going without it. I was taking all the supplements and kidding myself that this was enough to make me well.

This thread, plus joining Dr Davis's "Track your Plaque" site, have turned my health goals around. I hoped to do myself some good, but never thought I would have people reading this join in my weight dropping quest. That really makes it all worth while.

6 Months on the plan.

On June 20th I set off with the goal of losing 25 lbs. by Christmas...or roughly a pound a week.

Regular walking, calorie restriction, and a healthier diet using basic principles found in this forum tailored to what works for us.

I started off at 192 lbs. and a BMI just over 30...and on Christmas day I weighed in at 167.2 lbs and a BMI of 26.2

Close enough! I'll allow a .2 rounding as a Christmas present to myself.Goal met...and it wasn't that hard. My girlfriend has similar results.

We plan on keeping at it until we go past a BMI of less than 25. We like being thinner and look forward to maintaining a healthier diet, lifestyle and weight.

Thanks again for this forum and all the great information.

There is one downside...as discussed here by others.

We both have a closet full of clown clothes.
