At the time of our revolution from Great Britain, were we not terrorists?

No.

War, revolution, insurgency, etc. are not the same thing as terrorism (they sometimes use terrorism, but they are not the same thing)

Very complex Freely. I imagine the British thought we were terrorists. And of course, when someone thinks you are killing them unsportingly, and in a manner contravening the laws of the country, especially when doing this en masse, you probably are a terrorist- if you want to strike terror in to your enemies heart. If you just accidentally terrorize someone I'm not sure what that makes you- antisocial? A bad dinner guest?
