Recessions come and go, but every "recession" that I can remember has always been cut short by government intervention. Looks like we're going to have to pay for over a decade of government policies which has favored short-term stimulus over long-term viability. Yeah, you weren't around for Volker. One mean SOB. "Take your Fing medicine and quit whining". Paid like 16% mortgage rates. As for Obama, he'll say anything to get elected, just like any other politician, but at least he may get the political opportunity to apply needed fixes, reduce deficit spending, and reinforce the foundations of the American economy. If he has to hold off on his big government spending programs like global warming, so be it. I think GW is more of a private industry spending program. I hate to deal in cliches, but I really do think McCain is more of the same.
