[ In your face style ]

Hi Bart,

Personally, I can't stand Steve's 'in your face' style of posting, which is why I havn't read his posts for a couple of months. Just a big yawn in my opinion.

Clicking past is a great time-saver which has allowed me to do more of my own research.

Life is too short.

:-))

John

[Bart, Jim Re: SteveG]

Bart, Jim....all
Bart, you don't know how much on the mark you are when you say Steve is well educated! Actually, I think that's his problem. He's probably overeducated. A few simple Internet searches will not only bear this out but also that he seems to be the kind of person that longs to have his ego stroked. After reading some of my search results, I honestly believe he's here more for the debate/argument than he is here to further his investments or to help others with insightful, unbiased, and meaningful information like Pat or Jim offers.

You have to understand the mind set of a person like this. In his related field he is probably a BRAIN. Since he get's the respect he probably deserves in his field he feel's that he should be just as right in other areas and that he should get the same respect. When he doesn't, he goes into a literary and psychological tantrum. Maybe we should all just MEDITATE on the possibility to TRANSCEND his post's by humoring him.

Believe it or not, I think this type of person actually respects Pat! In her he thinks he has found someone worthy enough to debat him on the level he THINKS he is on. It's probably about as much a compliment as he's able to give. In any event, I do think he comes up with some valid points from time to time if one can get past the BS.

[Contrarian]

<<<It is possible to be contrarian with a modicum of class.>>>

So true, and I count many Amati contrarians as my good buddies --- Mike Angelo, srvhap, Mark Lewin (at the outset), and even Salim who calls once in awhile, have been contrarian at different times. Yet no antagonism, no personal jabs, no misrepresentation --- just healthy skepticism.

Our current contrarian (this is for you SteveG) reminds me of autistics who can quote whole volumes of Shakespeare but haven't a clue why the Bard wrote, ". . . it is a tale/ Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,/ Signifying nothing."

Shakespeare gives more clues than life on any given day, but they go beyond the simple function of the brain. All part of the mystery that makes the journey so compelling. And why the rules of civil discourse apply here as much as anywhere else.

Just my take.

Pat
