"The irony that the coming socialization is being caused by supposedly socialism-hating Republicans is too thick to even see through."

There is probably a term for that, but I can't think of it at the moment. If there isn't one yet there will be one soon. "Blowback" is close.

It reminds me of the Disney version of "The Sorcerer's Apprentice". These derivatives instruments are certainly financial voodoo, and they now appear to be out of control.

Republicans don't understand socialism. They don't understand it but they know they don't like it. This is typically silly and childish behavior which leads to those insane McCain rallies where audience members are actually saying 'off with his head' and crappola...unacceptable behavior in a political campaign....talk about domestic terrorism.

Taking over AIG, guaranteeing more than half of the mortgages in the USA, buying up commercial paper, bankrolling the car industry and buying preferred shares in banks...this is far more government intrusion into the market than anything seen under Democrats.

Republicans enjoy having the US taxpayer GIVE them money, they just call such largesse tax cuts. Republicans dislike it when the US taxpayer demands OVERSIGHT, they call that socialism.

The GOP really blows these days.
