Yah, I think that much was obvious.

Also the *unanimous* conclusion of the bipartisan Legislative Council:

The Governor, (as chief executive of Alaska), had unquestioned authority to fire anyone in the executive ranks of the Alaska government that she wanted to. For 'cause', for other reasons... indeed for no reasons at all, merely if she wanted to.

But also concluded that the action was 'unethical' as taken.
