The new approach, which would have the government inject capital directly into the nation’s banks, is one that administration officials had publicly opposed until just a few days ago.

They finally studied the Swedish approach from the Krona crisis in 1992.
Actually a full recount of that was published in the NYT on Sept 23.

Seems like finally somebody brought the attention about it to Bush, Berneke and their buddies before.

Now if John, our vivid NYT reader, had posted it before, much time could have been saved provided Bush reads our board - which no doubt he does on a daily basis ;)
