Ayers is an unrepentant terrorist with influence among the people whose support Obama needed in order to rise rapidly through the ranks of Chicago politics. And Obama allied himself with Ayers not out of some national necessity, but as a choice, made for personal gain. THAT is why your comparisons to Adams and Shamir are invalid.
