Suma I think a former client of mine got caught up in that one too, his business was netting him 4.5m a year at the time so he was certainly capable of getting the best advice money can buy.

A total of $250m was lost in the swindle in the state of Florida. They guaranteed a minimum return of 10% or 12% a year depending on how much you invested. When I asked how they can guarantee such an impossibly high return, the guy pushing the investment told me it was because they had a Cray supercomputer ... I responded that I had a Compaq Pentium but that didn't make me a financial wizard.

Anyway I told the client my way or the highway, and he chose the highway to his detriment. It took a few years for the scam to be uncovered.

Even the filthy rich get taken by these schemes, the truth is there is no free lunch no matter how wealthy you are.
