If you had TV in 1948, you must've been near a city. It was several years later when my remote area of South Texas got TV, and it was beamed out of Mexico, in English. We didn't get live network TV until around 1957, so before that much of the day was devoted to the test pattern. When TV signed on around 4:00 in the afternoon, it was mostly old westerns -- Johnny Mack Brown, Lash LaRue, Gene Autry, etc.

Glad we had Tom and Huck and no Simpsons back then.

Got the fence posts set in concrete, so the hard part is over -- just sawing and nailing boards now.
