Don't sweat it Dave. No one expects an (R) to have any ethics.

"An honest analysis of it looks as though there was a political negotiation and the outcome was nil; each side got some of what they wanted, and there was no basis whatsoever for the claim of an ethics violation."

Other than the fact that this is wrong, you have a point.

Who knows, i-node? Maybe you've got it right. Maybe you don't.

"Which was, after all, the only reason the issue was brought up at this time."

Say what? Per usual, you have it backwards. You are aware this has been in the works for months. The original deadline would have put it right before the election. It was moved to reduce the consequences for the election.

"These kinds of bogus charges are bandied about all the time."

You persist in trying to spin it like the Alaskan Democrats cooked this up to hurt her VP chances. That isn't even vaguely the case.

These kinds of bogus charges are bandied about all the time. The Dems in Arkansas went after Huckabee, who as squeaky clean as a governor could possibly be. It is just part of the game.

Except she and husband used questionable tactics and the power of her office to try and settle a family matter. Hence, its an ethics violation whether you want to believe it or not.
