It is ridiculous to suggest that pain hasn't been felt. Also, I for one was prepared for a crash - still am.

This bear erased 40-60% of equities value worldwide, and
the panic last week got volatility to a record close to 1987
crash. In particular, the DOW erased all gains of 2003-2007
interim bull market, now back to where it was 10 years ago.
Oh yeah, that's lots of pain!

When you say "everybody," what exactly is your sampling size? 10 people on S.I? 15 people?

In other news, the general population of the West is preparing for a nuclear winter and are scared out of their minds.

USA shareholders lost 8 trillion dollars in market value since 2007. I suppose we need to lose another 5 trillion before the pain really kicks in.

Everybody, but everybody, is expecting a huge rally starting tomorrow (either THE bottom, or interim bottom is in).

PAIN HAS NOT BEEN FELT!!

I don't know where you live, but they ain't talking about a rally in my grocery stores. Most people are talking about not being able to retire. I was at a little league ball field all weekend talking to people...People are scared--I promise.

With the VIX as high as it is, you think J6P is going long? There is a lot of "insurance" being bought last week. The job of the market will be to devour the value of the insurance and then scare them. What about record MF withdrawals?

How many times have we gapped up in the last 2 weeks only to loose 500+ for the day? The rally will get sold tomorrow, the question is, how will we close? I think the "herd" will sell the gap tomorrow morning only to get their nuts handed to them in a paper sack by the end of the day....

I never suggested we've seen the bottom, just that we're due for a rally, which we're now having... I plan to short this rally once we get to around SP 1050ish or so, and then a test of the lows made on Friday, maybe lower before any bottom is made...<g>
