But there has been continuing regulation ever since. Law-makers seem to think they need to be making laws. It doesn't occur to them that they could spend their days repealing laws.

It doesn't take effort to cut back government. Just cancel laws and stop doing things. It's very easy to stop doing things. Just stay in bed late and don't even bother to "go to work" each day.

Snow, ideology is fine, but if a gun, why not a nuke? After all, nukes don't kill people, people kill people. When first strike capability is excessive, I'll draw the line at trusting individuals to comply with libertarian ideology regarding non-initiation of force.
