that's exactly what I was saying about needing all kinds of people for optimal outcomes! I hadn't even seen that study, but I love it. It certainly fits with what I see in the world.

That fits in with the evolutionarily stable strategies (ESS) or traits that Evolutionary biologists talk about - the well-known example is the simplistic hawk-dove model. if the hawks predominate, the dove strategy becomes beneficial and if doves predominate then the hawkish trait confers a significant advantage. These traits usually reach a Nash equilibrium

And then there is the occasional cataclysmic event like the massive asteroid at the K-T boundary that disrupts everything - the GWB Presidency may well belong in that category <g>
