Hi Joe,
those are good questions. I'll point out a couple facts for you, though.
1) Under the Obama plan, the 95% of Americans who get a tax cut, will still pay a lot of taxes.
2) Under Bush Jr., 5% of Americans were voting themselves all sorts of pork, tax cuts, and tax breaks for their corporations.

So the way I see it is that we moved very far to the right and now we're moving back towards center. It's like a pendulum. The further right you pull it, the further left the rebound will be, until everything reaches equilibrium again.

Anyway, I'm not sure how you can equate a tax cut for 95% of Americans with "no stake in the country". Care to explain that a bit? I thought Republicans never saw a tax cut they didn't like.
