"Gold lost its glitter". Not for me. I have 6% of all my assets in gold and alongside of a certain group of Hong Kong buildings, those two cause me ZERO worry. We have to be able to get enough sleep. Gold is a sleeping pill.

RE: "what is today representative of the "real money"" As strange as it may sound under current circumstances, day in and day out, year over year, it's pretty hard to beat real estate as a vehicle to preserve and increase wealth.

<<gold lost its glitter as a store of value >> to me, gold buys more of s&p500 now than a few days, weeks, months, and years ago. and gold buys more dollars now than when i first treated it as money. and physical bullion is hard to find in quantity and not available at small premium to paper spot. i.e. good money p.s. i have never tried carrying oil or diamond around, and do not wish to i am on pda, hard to check, but i am guessing that the canadian energy trusts bought last thursday is up, more than currencies i believe all assets are for the game, and gold is a crucial weapon
