I feel just fine commenting on US politics, thanks.

Why don't you have the right to keep and bear arms? Don't you believe in freedom?

That's my comment on British politics.

I work in the int'l oil drilling business, have traveled abroad and work regularly with people from and in all sorts of countries (emailed someone in an African country a couple hours ago for example). I pay attention to other countries policies and politics only to the extent they affect my country and business.

But I wouldn't think of telling citizens of other country's who they should vote for.

Commenting is one thing. Advocating what other people should do in their country is another. Example: In the past I've commented on socialized health care in Canada and Europe (sorry, I'm including you there). But my interest in so commenting is driven exclusively by concerns over whether we should copy such systems here. So I have commented on other countries health care systems as an example of what we here should or shouldnt do. I wouldn't think of telling Brits or Canadians or whoever that they should change their system. Thats their business. Let them make up their own minds.

Same thing with politics and voting - I think its very arrogant for citizens of one country to try to convince citizens of another country which of their politicians they should vote for or against.

No, I feel just fine commenting on US politics, thanks.

Rubs a lot of Americans the wrong way.

The ones that aren't rubbed that way are those who wish they were Europeans and have a slavish inferiority to them.
