Papa and Baby Doc with their Ton Tons paved the way.

Oh, I think it is fundamental to today's liberalism. When I was a liberal, freedom of speech was a rallying cry. But liberalism has changed, and not for the better. It is hate-filled and if someone's freedom of speech is impinged in an effort to elect the "correct" candidate, so be it.

I recently attended a Crosby Stills & Nash concert (I appreciate the music enough to tolerate the politics). These guys don't realize that being a liberal today is not the same as it was in '69. They have the same old idealism, which is great, but they don't realize that they come across as mean-spirited now. This being in the reddest of red states, many, many people got up and walked out during the show because of the interjection of political barbs.

It is pathetic what liberalism has become. And even more pathetic that the liberals of 40 years ago cannot even see how they have changed into bitter, mean-spirited, hateful people in the process.

Michael and JF on this thread? Mean, bitter. They've become Richard Nixon.
